Issue no 48:

Aliyah Coaching: Helping You Prepare for an

Inspiring, Life-Changing Journey

Dr Rona Hart

Are you going on Aliyah soon? Or are you considering Aliyah?

Have you always yearned to live in Israel but never got to fulfill this dream?

Perhaps you know exactly how you want your life to be.  You know you belong in Israel, and that this is your true spiritual home.

Can you imagine how your life would be in Israel?

There are many books, information handbooks, websites and seminars offered to Olim that are packed with advice about the nuts and bolts of Aliyah – your rights as an Oleh, buying and selling a property, shipping and packing, legal issues, finding a job, educating children, banking, health, Learning Hebrew…   but very little time is spent on the emotional side of a big move.

Those around you,  like friends and family, who would normally be your primary source of support, probably don’t want you to leave them behind and so find it hard to be completely impartial and supportive.

Sometimes, people make the choice to make Aliyah for the wrong reasons. They might be escaping a relationship breakdown, an unsatisfying career, or any other unpleasant personal situation and may see their Aliyah as their quick exit strategy. Others might be trying to simplify their life and don’t realise that they have unreasonable expectations of their new life. This can result in an expensive and emotionally draining mistakes.

With this in mind, I have put together special relocation-coaching packages, designed for people who are considering or preparing for Aliyah.

Often it is difficult to talk about moving with loved ones – you may feel you can’t ‘play’ with ideas without being seen to have made a decision, or you might be worried about how your listener would be affected by your move and feel that you have to shield him or her from your true thoughts.

During our time together you will have the space and time to explore your feelings and motivations about relocating without any of these worries. Depending on your circumstances, you will identify whether making Aliyah is the right choice for you, where you want to live, when you want to be there and what needs to be in place for you to make the move smoothly and with the minimum of pain.

We will explore your expectations, define your goals clearly, look at how your life is likely to change, timescale your ideas and look at budgeting as well as dealing with your specific moving issues – children, work, finances, pets etc.

The suggested timing for these relocation coaching packages is 5 sessions conducted over a period of two months, or 7 sessions  over a period of 3 months. These packages can be redesigned to suit your needs and timescale.

I am here to help you make your Aliyah dream a reality!

 Inspirational Words

Successful Olim dream big dreams and the only behavior they accept from themselves is to make those dreams come true.

In order for you to do that, you will need to commit to your Aliyah dream.

Once you're on your Aliyah road, you must STAY ON IT!

Commitment means getting up if you trip along the way.

It means putting one foot in front of another, even if the going gets tough.

It means no detours or shortcuts - no looking back.

Just keep moving forward on the road to your own success.

The biggest difference you can make is to COMMIT to make a big difference!

Decide it and do it!

Choose to make your Aliyah a success and you will!

Beyond wishing and hoping, commitment means planning and doing!
